POWER PLANT DOME DEMOLITION

SCOPE OF WORK
GV Engineering LLC. (GV) worked out a detailed demolition procedure for dismantling one of the decommissioned nuclear reactor containment units. To accomplish a highly controlled demolition of the unit, GV superimposed a grid system on the geodesic dome to represent each sequential section to be removed, then conducted a Finite Element Analysis of the remaining structure with each of about 30 sections removed.
